Intimate Family Led Cremation Service
Mayfair’s Intimate Funeral Service offers a heartfelt,
family-led farewell held in our peaceful Chapel. Designed for small gatherings of 10 close family and friends, this service provides up to one hour for sharing memories within the Mayfair Chapel, candle lighting, personal reflections, and a dignified committal.
We care for every detail, from a beautiful floral casket arrangement, your choice of premium coffin to optional open-coffin viewing with professional care and preparation. Our dedicated team ensures a seamless experience, setting the Chapel, coordinating service elements, and playing your selected music.
Personal touches are always welcomed. Families may share readings, place floral tributes and if they wish, pallbear their loved one’s coffin to the hearse. A personalised photo and video tribute will be displayed, creating a heartfelt and meaningful celebration of life.
Personalised Open Casket Option: If you wish, the coffin may remain open for the entire service or for a selected portion, allowing loved ones the opportunity for a personal farewell. Please note that choosing an open coffin requires mortuary care and body preparation, additional fees will apply.

From the moment your loved one is entrusted to our care through to the day of the funeral, we ensure every farewell is personal, respectful, and thoughtfully arranged.

Chapel services are typically held in a cemetery chapel, a church or another meaningful venue, followed by the cremation. Each service can be fully tailored to honour religious traditions, cultural customs, and personal wishes. Families often choose to include special elements such as music, photographic tributes, rosemary reflections, and heartfelt eulogies to create a beautiful and meaningful celebration of life.
Personalised viewing option: If you wish a private viewing with your loved one can be arranged at our Embleton location. Please note that choosing a viewing requires mortuary care and preparation, additional fees will apply.

Choosing cremation is a personal decision, at Mayfair Funerals we honour your wishes and those of your loved one. We provide comprehensive cremation services, guiding you through each step with empathy and clarity. From initial arrangements to the final memorial, our aim is to alleviate your burden and provide a seamless experience during a challenging period. You may decide to hold the service in the Mayfair Funeral Home Chapel for a more intimate feel, or hold your loved one's service within the Perth cemetery chapels.
What Happens on the Funeral Day Explained
We believe in transparency. Our team will explain the entire process, from the transfer of your loved one into our care, the cremation itself, and the careful return of your loved one's ashes. All procedures adhere to the highest standards of ethics, respect, and legal requirements in Western Australia.
Every funeral service is unique, planned and arranged to acknowledge and honour your loved one. Please find below a guide for the funeral day and remember that every funeral is unique, the below outline may differ depending on your choices and preference as a family.
Before the Service
Your family will a to the Cemetery Chapel. Your loved one will travel via hearse to the cemetery with a beautiful floral casket spray.
Your Funeral Director will have arrived ahead of time to lodge the legal documents and prepare the chapel, placing any personal memorabilia that the family would like to be displayed. This may include a framed photograph, additional flowers and personal items.
Arriving for the Cremation Service
You will arrive at the side entrance to the cemetery chapel and your loved one will have arrived ahead of you via hearse. Your Funeral Director will great you when you arrive, arranging the pallbearers (if this option has been chosen) and escort the remaining family to their seats within the front rows of the Chapel.
On the day of the service, our experienced team ensures everything runs smoothly so you can focus on honouring your loved one’s memory. Your Funeral director will be there to guide and support you at every moment.
Entering the Cemetery Chapel
The Mayfair funeral attendants will open the doors to the Chapel when you the family are ready, inviting the family and friends into the Chapel to be seated.
Your loved one will be taken from the hearse and placed on a Chapel trolley. The family or friends who will be pallbearing will hold the handles of the coffin and bring your loved one inside the chapel to the catafalque using the dedicated chapel trolley.
Your loved one's coffin is then placed on the catafalque. Your Mayfair funeral director and staff will confirm the placement of the coffin is correct and then bow together with the pall bearers, as a sign of respect to your loved one. The civil celebrant, clergy or chosen speaker will then welcome family and friends before commencing the service.
