An unattended cremation is a simple, private cremation that takes place without a formal funeral service or family and friends present at the crematorium. Mayfair arranges all professional care, paperwork, transport and coordination on your behalf.

The Simple Unattended Cremation includes transfer of your loved one into our care within 40km of the Perth CBD during business hours, a basic cremation coffin, accommodation in our funeral home, careful planning and coordination of the cremation, unmarked funeral vehicle transport to Pinnaroo Cemetery, legal permits, and submission of the registration of death with a link for you to purchase the physical Death Certificate online from the Registry Office.

What is the total cost of a Simple Unattended Cremation?

The total cost of the Simple Unattended Cremation is $2,799 inc GST. This includes Mayfair’s professional fees and the compulsory cremation fee set by the cemetery.

What is the total cost of a Premium Unattended Cremation?

The total cost of the Premium Unattended Cremation is $3,399 inc GST. This includes Mayfair’s professional fees, the premium service inclusions and the compulsory cremation fee set by the cemetery.

Can ashes be collected from our preferred Perth crematorium?

Yes. Ashes can be collected from your requested Perth crematorium following the cremation. This may include Pinnaroo Cemetery, Karrakatta Cemetery, Fremantle Cemetery or Rockingham Cemetery, depending on your family’s preference and the arrangements made.

Is the Death Certificate included?

For the Premium Unattended Cremation, Mayfair registers the death and provides a certified copy of the Death Certificate for collection from our funeral home. For the Simple Unattended Cremation, Mayfair submits the registration of death and provides a link for you to order and pay for the physical Death Certificate directly from the Registry Office.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. All known costs, including professional care, cremation fee, permits, transport and documentation, are transparently included in the total package price. Only clearly listed additional fees, such as after-hours transfers, oversize coffin, extended travel or medical practitioner fees, may apply depending on your family’s specific needs and are discussed with you in advance.

Can we still hold a memorial or farewell gathering if we choose an unattended cremation?

Yes. Many families who choose an unattended cremation later arrange a separate memorial, scattering of ashes or gathering at home, a venue or place of significance. Mayfair can guide you on options and timing so your family can create a meaningful farewell, even without a formal chapel service on the day of cremation.

The total price for the Premium Private Direct Cremation is $3,199.00, which includes the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board cremation fee.

The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board cremation fee covers the official cremation cost charged by the Perth cemetery authority. This fee is $1,354.00 and is fully included in your total price.

The Premium Unattended Cremation component is $2,045.00 and includes professional care, planning, coordination, and individual hearse transport prior to cremation.

No formal funeral or chapel service is included in this package. This is a private, unattended cremation without family and friends present at the crematorium.

Yes. Your loved one is transported individually in a hearse to the crematorium, ensuring dignity and privacy.

Yes. The applicant can collect the Ashes from your Pinnaroo Cemetery following the cremation. Or if you prefer, advise us and we can arrange for you to collect the Ashes from Karrakatta Cemetery, Fremantle Cemetery, or Rockingham Cemetery.

Yes. For the Premium Unattended Cremation, the Death Certificate is registered by Mayfair Funerals and a certified copy is provided for collection from our funeral home. This does not apply to a Simple Direct Cremation.

No. All known costs including professional care, cremation fee, permits, transport, and documentation are transparently included in the total price. However, if your loved one requires an oversize coffin, requires a pacemaker to be removed prior to cremation, or if their medical doctor charges a fee to provide medical documentation, this may incur an additional cost. Bringing a loved one into our care from their place of passing outside of business hours will also incur a fee.

Normally, an unattended cremation will take place within five days after we have brought your loved one into our care. As there is no funeral service to plan or conduct, arrangements are typically able to proceed sooner and with fewer delays.

Respectful, Dignified Mortuary Care & Preparation with full dress $750. Clothing to be provided by family.
1hr Viewing of your loved one on a viewing bed at the Mayfair viewing room, Monday to Friday within Business hours $495. (Mortuary Care must be selected for this option).
